Bringing a lifelong love for Moscow’s community, identity, and values to City Leadership.
Hailey’s priorities
+ Increasing Inter-Agency Collaboration and Communication
Ensuring clear expectations of infrastructure needs are documented and communicated between all taxing districts that impact Moscow residents.
In plain English: Develop an integrated understanding between the City, Latah County, Moscow School District, library district, and the two highway districts to understand facility needs on the 5, 10, 20 year horizon for the community. No taxing district should be racing the other in an uncoordinated effort to get a bond or levy on the ballot first.
+ Fiscal Responsibility & Making Key investments
Allocating taxpayer dollars efficiently while balancing the need to make critical investments in our city’s future.
In plain English: Make progress towards the goals outlined in the comprehensive and strategic plans, maintaining infrastructure, and anticipating the needs of our citizens to make the best use of our limited resources. Communicating how infrastructure decisions are made and prioritized to citizens can feel daunting, and the City already does a good job of this. Hailey looks forward to continuing to make it easy to understand what is happening where, when, and with what money.
+ Data-Driven Decision Making & Active Listening
Encouraging public comment and robust discussion while making data-driven decisions. Soliciting public input and discussion while also seeking quantitative data to make the best decisions for the community.
+ Supporting the Arts & Creating Community
Supporting the numerous arts and community events that provide residents of all ages the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow. Ensure Moscow continues to live up to its name as the Heart of the Arts.
+ Continued Momentum & Awareness about Sustainable Growth
Maintaining Moscow’s character as it grows with an eye toward water, energy, infrastructure, and identity. Thinking creatively about how to ensure Moscow has adequate affordable and attainable housing for its population and that we are being responsible stewards of our natural resources.
